I bought a red pepper flat a few weeks back.

I planted them in our biggest planter and I've put them out in full sun and have been giving them frequent watering as instructed by the little card that came with them. They seem to be s-l-o-w-l-y growing. They haven't died yet. I guess that's a good sign.

They seem to have buds on them right at the top. I can't wait to see what happens with them.

Maybe I do have a green thumb?

I've got basil! It's finally starting to grow. I've been pinching of new leaves occasionally on the advice of several gardeners. I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but the leaves sure do smell good when I pinch them.

Can you tell we're really enjoying our new camera? :P

I'm working hard at prepping for my Family Service on this Upcoming Sunday. I've not had much time for real blog posts. I'm super excited about the service. The them is "Sending Christian Greetings" and I've got lots of fun and exciting stuff lined up.

I planted red pepper plants yesterday. I put them in a big planter (the one I was going to plant potatoes in but decided against potatoes). I put them in full sun (which the tag said they liked) and I am praying they grow.

My basil is still so small. So. Small. It's been almost a month now!

Andrew's radishes are doing very good. I never thought they would grow so fast and so well! I picked radishes for the kids to plant because the germination period was quite short and I thought the kids would appreciate seeing something grow right away. I thought for sure Andrew would under water them or over water them or tip the pot over or eat the mud or put his toys in the pot or something...but it doesn't seem to matter what we do, the radishes keep growing.

Now, here's my secret.

I don't like radishes. Never have. Never will.

What does one do to eat radishes? What does one put them in? When will they be ready to pick?

PS. What should I plant next. I have one mediumish (maybe on the small side) planter left.

I want to start a small garden this year. I'm thinking a cucumber plant, some lettuce, and maybe something else. Simple stuff. Our yard has never had a garden before. It doesn't even have flower beds. Just grass everywhere. When the snow melts I'm going to work on turning the soil in one of the flowerbeds and see how far I get.

I've never really gardened before, but I have recently kept a plant alive in my house for 2 years now so I figure I'm ready for planting veggies.
